The new 6.2L
LT1 V-8 engine features three technologies new to the Corvette: direct
injection, variable valve timing and an active fuel management system. Fuel
injectors are located under the intake manifold. It remains rear-wheel drive
with the transaxle located in the rear. Transmission choices include a 7-speed
manual or a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The StingRay will tear the road apart with its 450hp and 450 ft. lbs. of torque from the V8 6.2L !! Its capable of accelerating from 0 - 60 in less than 4 sec and can easily achieve 1G in cornering grip. Its will also be the most fuel efficient Corvette ever, exceeding the EPA estimated 26 mpg of the current model.

Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital Inc., the developers of the Gran Turismo franchise, collaborated to provide an authentic driving experience in the Corvette Stingray – the seventh generation of the iconic sports car.
As Chevrolet takes the wraps off the all-new Corvette Stingray, fans of Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 3 (PS3) system will have the first chance to push the car to the limits in the critically acclaimed racing game Gran Turismo 5.
Nearly 500,000 people around the world have driven the camouflaged Corvette prototype since it was introduced in the game in November of last year.
The Corvette Stingray will be available to download for FREE from the PlayStation Store on the 16th of January!! The Corvette Stingray will be available as a free download through the PlayStation Store from your PlayStation3 system on Tuesday, Jan. 16, and can be driven on some of the world's renowned race tracks, including Daytona International Speedway and the infamous Nurburgring – one of the track surfaces used in testing to evaluate the new Corvette Stingray's driving dynamics.
The Gran Turismo series has sold more than 68 million games since its inception and remains the highest-selling PlayStation-exclusive franchise of all time.
